Enjoying the moment
The captivating crystal-clear blue skies, not even a brushstroke of a single cloud, the palest of peach glow of the rising sun painting the horizon, blending its pallet so beautifully into the blue. The sands here are neither black, dark grey nor golden. They are a honey, biscuit tone. Everything is soft, inviting; a salve, bringing a smile, creases of delight upon the face.
The joy of squishing the toes into the sand and feeling the chilling power of waves rushing up onto the shore encapsulating all in its path. The drag as it returns to gain power to do it all again. The lusciousness of the lazy walk along the beach, taking time to just draw it all in. Pausing to watch in awe as the little silver gulls behave like swallows, scooting across the surface of the water, then going high, higher and suddenly dive bombing, straight down into the turquoise water to catch small fish and krill to feed on. Watching them is a wonderful time waster.
The sun is warm, but not too hot, the breeze, like a gentle kiss brushing across the skin. It feels so good. The people along the length of the beach taking part in so many relaxing activities with delight written across their faces.
Those splashing and hopping about in the waves with squeals of joy, the serious sea swimmer who pounds in through the inviting frothy bubbles and as soon as it is deep enough, dives under the waves and continues heading out to deeper waters; only to turn and catch those powerful waves, body surfing into the shallows. Wet suited surfers with their boards, catching the waves as well, as the surf is good today.
Surfcasters holding steadfastly to their long rods, casting and holding, with friends and family gathered nearby in anticipation, to witness the possible catch. Loungers resting on towels reading, talking or having a snooze. Some in the sun, some under varying kinds of shade from umbrellas to gazebos.
Dog walkers, dog swimmers, four-wheel motor bikes carrying friends and family up and down the beach. Some for the joy and sport of it, some to check their pots near the rocks for crayfish. The walkers who revel in their daily stride to either the north or south rocks for their exercise.
It is all happening here and it is truly beautiful. The expansive stretch of breathtaking beach allows for all these activities without feeling crowded, there is room for us all.
Staying at Riversdale Beach in the most gorgeous weather, delights the eye, floods the soul and rejuvenates the heart, mind and body. Your beautiful creation is so magnificent, it fills me with awe and wonder that truly refreshes. I am so grateful. My cup is full.
